Herbert Schmidt

Mr. Schmidt was born September 6, 1921 in Cleveland, Ohio to Eugene and Bertha Ross Schmidt. Herbert was of the Baptist faith and attended Bethel Baptist Church in Olive Hill, Kentucky. He was a life long member of the VFW #9943 in Mansfield, Ohio and a WWII Veteran serving in the United States Marine Corps. He was also retired from NASA as a bricklayer.

Mr. Schmidt is survived by three step-sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Emily Gladden of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Douglas and Terri Gladden of Mansfield, Ohio and Daniel and Barbara Gladden of West Liberty, Kentucky; eleven grandchildren and twenty nine great grandchildren and sixteen great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife of sixteen years, Wilma Laribbee Schmidt and several brothers and sisters.

Funeral service will be held at the Ontario home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Wednesday December 13, 2006 at 1:00P.M. with Brother Lowell Webb officiating. Friends may call at the Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky from 1:00P.M. - 4:00P.M. on Tuesday December 12, 2006. Friends may call at the Ontario home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Wednesday from 11:00A.M. until time of service. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
