
Herman A. Frank, 80, of Mansfield, died Thursday, January 11, 2007, at his home. Born March 23, 1926, in Mansfield, he was the son of the late Charles J. and Elizabeth B. Bonn Frank. Herman retired from Mansfield City Schools after 37 years of service. He was an avid golfer, and a fan of the New York Yankees and Michigan Wolverines. He was a veteran of WWII, serving with the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by two sons, Jeffrey Frank of Mansfield and John Carrie Frank of Phoenix, AZ; five grandchildren, Ryan and Amber of Mansfield, Shanna of Texas and Jason and Kathy of Phoenix; seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Dixie Opal Nunley Frank whom preceded him in death in July 2006, his parents and a brother, Charles P. Frank.
Friends may call Monday, January 15 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Bruce Copley officiating. Military graveside services conducted by Richland County Joint Veteran's Burial Detail will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
