
Ida B. Ward, 85, of Mansfield, died unexpectedly Saturday, August 5, 2006 at Brighton Gardens in Scottsdale, Arizona. Born April 2, 1921 in Stacey, Kentucky, she was the daughter of James and Hester Campbell. She had attended the Mayflower Congregational Church and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW 3494. Mrs. Ward loved spending quality time with her children and dancing. She also enjoyed gardening, canning, crocheting, cooking, and traveling.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53, years, Eugene 'Gene' Ward of Mansfield; three daughters, Linda Shambre Ward of Tempe, Arizona, Donna Ward Heilig, and Judy Ward Murphy, both of Scottsdale, Arizona; six grandchildren, Jeffrey Susan Shambre, Jody Shambre Ward, Nicholas and Michelle Heilig, Zachary Ward Murphy, and Cody Ward Murphy; two great-grandchildren, Lindsey Shambre, and Zarie Mae Shambre Ward; sons-in-law, Paul Heilig and Jerry Murphy; one brother, Willard Campbell of Rowdy, Kentucky; two sisters, Bethann Watts of Rowdy, Kentucky, and Joy Locke of Mansfield; sister-in-law, Blanche Campbell of Rowdy, Kentucky; special friend, Sarah Adkins Kershner of Mansfield; and many nieces and nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Charles W. Baumberger; brothers, Emery, Edward, Willis, and Millard Campbell; sisters, Elvira Jones, and Rosalee Allen; and son-in-law, Larry Shambre.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, August 10, 2006 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 Friday at the funeral home conducted by Dr. Gary Wilson. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
