
Ivan Meade, Jr., 73, of Mansfield, died Tuesday morning April 5, 2005 at Mifflin Care Center. Born February 29, 1932 in New Town, West Virginia, he was the son of Ivan and Fannie Hinkle Meade, Sr. He retired form the West Virginia Department of Highways. Mr. Meade had attended the Wyandotte Freewill Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Curry Meade; four daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia and Luther 'Pat' Dillman of Mansfield, Elizabeth and Bobby Nelson of Marion, Mary and Dan Taylor of Mansfield, and Deborah and Roger Simmons of Ft. Gay, West Virginia; one son and daughter-in-law, Ivan and Pam Meade of Mansfield; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Clarence 'Beaver' Meade, Roger and Jenny Meade, Jimmy Meade, Freddy and Pat Meade, and Jackie and Nora Meade, all of West Virginia; two sisters and brother-in-law, Betty Butcher, and Sandy and Elmer Hatfield, all of West Virginia; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Judy Carol Meade; brothers, Herschel, Ron, Dennis, and Robert Meade; and sisters, Louella, Shirley, and Ellen.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday April 6, 2005 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday April 7 at the funeral home with Pastor Brian Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the family.
