

A graduate of Mansfield Senior High School, James worked at Ohio Brass and Mansfield Foundry. He enjoyed working on lawn mowers as a hobby and liked John Deere tractors. A kind hearted man, James was a great husband, dad, and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Patricia Banks; children, Susan (Dan) Kilgore, Cindy (Tony) Brandt, Shelley (Jack) Honse, Edward Banks, and Kathy (Dave) McCarrick; grandchildren, Ryan, Joshua, Kristen, Benjamin, Seth, Morgan, and Emily; great grandchildren, Kooper, Keatyn, Charleston, Brooks, Cohen, Brody, Benton, and Leighton; brother, Larry (Joan) Banks, sisters, Sina Davis and Peg (Lowell) Volz; and brother-in-law, Paul Gough.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Gough and stepmother, Creda Banks.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at the Diamond St. Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield, conducted by Pastor Dennis Eggerton and Dan Kilgore. Friends may call prior to the service from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Fund.
