James G. Brewer, 78, of Mansfield, Ohio, passed away Tuesday morning, May 31, 2016, at his home. He was born May 8, 1938, in Burlington, Iowa, to the late Jack Brewer and Helen Petersen Brewer and lived in Burlington until he was 15. His family then moved to Perrysville, Ohio, where he graduated from Perrysville High School. Six months later, Jim joined the U.S. Navy, serving for a total of 11 years serving during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged, he worked as a mechanic at King Lanes in Ashland and retired after 37 years of service.
In his free time, Jim enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting, water skiing, and computers. His hobbies included raising fish, making wine and camping. By far, Jim's most enjoyable times were spent in the company of his family.
Private family services will be observed. Wappner Cremation Center is privileged to serve the family.
