James "Jim" Carpenter, 50, of Mansfield, died Thursday, October 31, 2013. He was born October 13, 1963 in Mansfield to Edward James and Shirley Ann (Salsgiver) Carpenter. He was a graduate of Mansfield Senior High School in 1982 and sang just like Elvis during his high school years.
A man that never grew up, he was fun loving, had a forgiving spirit and a heart of pure gold. He lived life to its fullest. His strong belief in God, was evident in his daily life. Jim treated everyone he met like family. He studied martial arts and had earned Ninja status. Jim enjoyed watching Jerry Springer and wrestling. He also enjoyed movies of all genres, swords and knives.
He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Elizabeth Johnson Carpenter; mother, Shirley Wharton; four children, Angel Carpenter, James Carpenter, Jr., Sheena Arthur and Joshua Carpenter; three grandchildren, Nevaeh and Tracy Erwin and Thomas Kinnan; a brother, Eric (Crystal) Carpenter; a sister, Dawn Reene Miller; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.
There will be no services or visitation at this time.
