

James "Jim" W. Milligan, 66, of Mansfield, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at The Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Ashland, Ohio. He was born September 28, 1948, in Lucas, Ohio, to the late Ivan and Helen (McClurg) Milligan.
Jim had worked in various jobs around town throughout his lifetime. He was veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War. Following his discharge from the Army, Jim was in a serious accident and almost lost his life. Resilient and always faithful in the Lord, his testimony of life's trials and celebrations were an inspiration to all. Jim was a resident of Dayspring for over 10 years and treasured the friends he made while living there.
He is survived by two sisters, Marilyn Minich and Patricia (Jack) Merchant; brother, Ronald (Ida) Milligan; sister-in-law, Barbara Milligan; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister-in-law, Leon and Pamela Milligan and Richard Milligan; a brother-in-law, David Minich; and a sister-in-law, Wanda Milligan.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2015, in the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Phil Banks and Pastor Mark Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Dayspring Assisted Living; Father's Garden Christian Fellowship; or Hospice of North Central Ohio.
