

Mr. Ogden was a 1951 graduate of Mansfield Senior High and a 1955 graduate of Ohio University. The following year, in 1956, he entered the United States Air Force Pilot Training in Barto, Florida flying the T-34 and T-28 and in Enid, Oklahoma flying the B-25 receiving his Pilot Wings in 1959. He then advanced to the 339 B Squadron with the 3rd Bomb Wing obtaining the rank of Captain.
Mr. Ogden retired from Ohio Brass where he was the Purchasing Manager. He was a former member of the Frank H. Marquis Lodge #690 and enjoyed his cats and dogs. He also loved hunting and traveling with his wife.
He is survived by his wife, Sheryl (Holmes) Ogden; two daughters, Peggy (Jeff) Stutz of Austintown, OH and Patricia (Roger) Hinton of Rochester Hills, MI; four granddaughters, Amanda Stutz of Mansfield, Katie Stutz of Columbus, Brooke Hinton and Lauren Hinton both of Rochester Hills, MI; four step children, Jill (Dick) Kaber of Ontario, Alan (Claudia) Oswalt of Tulsa, OK, Bryan (Tina) Oswalt of Ashland and Kevin Oswalt of Mansfield; eight step grandchildren, Jodi (Kyle) Dickerson of Hillsboro, OH, Stacey (Jeff) Congrove of Reynoldsburg, OH, Carlie Oswalt, Morgan Oswalt both of Tulsa, OK, Jason Oswalt of Ashland, Tiffany (Ross) Steward of Lucas, Paul Oswalt and Brandon Oswalt both of Mansfield; two step great grandchildren, Ray Dickerson and McKenna Dickerson both of Hillsboro; and numerous cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Ogden and a step grand daughter, Hannah Oswalt.
Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2014 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2014 at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Kyle Dickerson. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery where full military honors will be conducted by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
