
James J. Rhoades, Jr., 80, of Mansfield, died Monday morning, April 25, 2005, at Ohio Veteran's Home in Sandusky. Born June 4, 1924, in Chillicothe, he was the son of James J. and Eva Rhoades. James was formerly employed as an electrician at Richland Brick Company. He enjoyed farming, gardening, hunting and fishing. He served his country during WWII with the U.S. Army.
He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Robin Rhoades of Shiloh, James and Carlene Rhoades and Rick and Judy Rhoades, all of Mansfield; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and long time friends, Doug and Sandy Slone. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Pauline Wise Rhoades in 1994, four brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Tuesday, April 26 from 5-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., conducted by Pastor Mike Weaver. Military graveside services conducted by Richland County Joint Veteran's Council will follow in Windsor Park Cemetery.
