

Jane L. "Janie" Waddell, 75, of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, February 25, 2017 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. Born January 12, 1942 in Trumbull County, Ohio, she was the daughter of Arthur and Gladys (John) O'Neil.
Janie graduated from Mansfield Senior High School and had worked as a waitress most of her life. She had worked 17 years at The Gourmet Room and also had worked at Sweeney's II and Skyway East. Janie then moved to Captiva Island, Florida in 1981 where she worked at Tween Waters Restaurant prior to her moving to Sanibel Island, Florida. On Sanibel, she worked at The Jacaranda Restaurant and the Sanibel Island Police Department. She called Florida her home until moving back to Mansfield in 1996.
Janie was reinstated several years ago and remained steadfast in her faith as a Jehovah's Witness.
Janie is survived by her daughters, Tereva Pocock (Patrick Gossom) and Lisa (Michael) Szymczak; grandsons, Zach Pocock, Zeke Pocock (Tiffany Bryant), Michael (Sara) Woogerd, Reed Woogerd and Tyler Woogerd; great grandchildren, Jillian Cole, Kylie Pocock, Morgan Pocock, Eden Woogerd, Lilah Woogerd, Julian Washington and Addison Woogerd; special family, Paulette and Bob Grant, Johnda and Brad Riddle and Jerry O'Neil and family; her beloved cat, Kashi; and special friends, MaryJo Kinney, Merri Miller, Danny Gagich, Billy Baker, Casey Carlson, Rick Castle, Diane Henderson, Charlie While and Evelyn Yahney.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Larry Waddell and her Special Love, Jack Waddell.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 15, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1780 Middle-Bellville Road, Mansfield. The Wappner Cremation Center is privileged to serve the family.
