Janet Lee Cox, 77, of Mansfield, passed away at her home on Thursday, May 31, 2018. She was born on August 22, 1940 in Mansfield, Ohio. Janet was the daughter of Joseph and Irene Mae (Krichbaum) Clelan.
Janet was a member of Mayflower Congregational Church. She was previously employed at Mansfield Tire and retired from United Telephone also known as Sprint, and was a member of Mansfield Tire Girls Club. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, canning her own foods, and searching out antiques.
She is survived by her sons, Michael (Teresa) Cox of Bucyrus and Clyde Cox Jr. of Mansfield; granddaughter, Katie Jo Cox; and great-granddaughters, Emma Jo and Maddie Mae. Janet was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clyde A. Cox whom she married on June 15, 1970; and her brother, James Clelan.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 from 1:00-2:00 pm. The memorial service conducted by Rev. Dr. Richard L. Rader will follow at 2:00 pm. She will be buried at a later date in Mansfield Cemetery beside her loving husband, Clyde.
