

Jean K. Daugherty, 86, of Mansfield, passed away early Thursday morning, July 13, 2017, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. She was born August 30, 1930, in Butler, Pennsylvania, to the late William and Alta May (Rosensteel) Kennedy.
She graduated from Butler High School and became a full-time homemaker when she married her husband, Joseph H. Daugherty, in January 1953. They moved their family between Ohio and Pennsylvania a total of 14 times, finally settling in Mansfield. Jean was a wonderful mother and wife and loved baking, reading and needle point. She later worked for the Girl Scouts and was the leader of her own troop. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two children, Coleen (Michael) Behr and Joseph Daugherty; five grandchildren, Matthew (Mary) Behr, Aaron Behr, Joshua (Jessica) Behr, Danielle (Jordan) Nehlsen, and Jon Daugherty; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph H. Daugherty on June 20, 2009; and numerous brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends from 10:00-12:00 p.m. Monday, July 17, 2017, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. A funeral service conducted by Rev. Robert Stull will follow at 12:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest in Mansfield Memorial Park.
