Jerome E. 'Jerry' Meyer, 61, of Bellville, died Tuesday April 15, 2003 at MedCentral Mansfield unexpectedly. Mr. Meyer was born May 21, 1941 in Tiro, Ohio residing in the Mansfield area most of his life. He was a truck driver and a veteran of the United States Air Force. Jerry was a member of the Teamsters Union, Moose Lodge #341, Amvets Post#26, VFW Post #5105, Sons of Herman and the Mansfield Leiderkranz.
Surviving are his wife, Peggy Meyer of Mansfield; two daughters, Julia Keller of Bellville; and Laura Kahn of Galion; two sons, James and Allen Meyer of Mansfield; sixteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Joann Bowman of Shelby, Doris and Ruth Noel of Mansfield; and one brother, Joseph Meyer of Shelby. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerome Alois and Julia Amelia Meyer; one sister and one brother.
Friends may call at The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Thursday, April 17, 2003 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Robert O'Brian. Military graveside services will be held at Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
