Jerry J. Harris, 77, of Mansfield died Friday evening, September 1, 2000 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after an extended illness. Mr. Harris was born January 7, 1923 in Mansfield, Ohio. He was retired from P.I.E. Trucking where he drove truck for 45 years. Mr. Harris was a veteran of WW II serving in the United States Army. He was past commander of VFW Post #3494.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ault Harris of Mansfield; a daughter and companion, Ginger Harris & Steven Archer of Mt. Vernon; two granddaughters, JamieWilliams of Mansfield and Jackie Morgan of Mt. Vernon; and an aunt, Isabelle Bellamy of Bellvue, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeremiah & Mary Smith Harris.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. Military graveside services will be held Wednesday, September 6, at 2:00 p.m. at Lantz Cemetery.
