John Burggraf

John W. Burggraf, 52, of Mansfield, died Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at MedCentral Mansfield. Born January 10, 1958, in Ashland, he was the son of Preston and Pauline Rule Burggraf. John was an extremely happy person who shared his positive attitude with everyone he met. He enjoyed fishing, painting, bowling and crafts, especially weaving rugs. He attended religious education classes at St. Peter's Catholic Church and loved his job working at Newhope Industries. He also previously attended Newhope School. John competed in Special Olympics for many years and had lived independently for many years with his friend, Michael King.

Surviving are his mother, Pauline Burggraf; a brother, Gary Nancy Burggraf; a sister, Vicki Jim Dutter; numerous nieces and nephews; and longtime friend, Michael King. He was preceded in death by his father, Preston Burggraf.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, September 3, 2010, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield. Burial will follow in Bryn Zion Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the services, from 12:30-1:30 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Richland Newhope.
