
John H. Keenan, 67, of Galion died Monday evening, April 21, 2003 at his home following a battle with cancer. He was born July 12, 1935 in Hughes Creek, West Virginia to Thomas P. and Minnie A. Balsar Keenan. He was a resident of the area for the last 46 years. John was a very active member of Westside Baptist Church. Until his retirement, he was employed as a tool and die maker with General Motors.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta Stout Keenan of 40 years; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert and Theresa Keenan of Texas and John P. Keenan of Mansfield; seven daughters and two sons-in-law, Vanessa and Mike Rogers of Virginia, Roxanne Hicks of Mansfield, Brenda and David Wilkinson of Mansfield, Tammy Welch of Marion, Ohio, Tammy Baldwin, Trina Bishop and Crystal Keenan, all of Mansfield; twenty-three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Nell Kathleen Smith of Mansfield; three aunts; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Minnie Keenan; and two brothers, Thomas Tom and William Jayhue Keenan.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Thursday, April 24 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services, conducted by Pastor Ken Fielder and Rev. Fred Dutton will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Westside Baptist Church. Additional calling hours will be held Saturday, April 26 from 9 to 11a.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 600 Old Fort Rd., Cedar Grove, West Virginia. Graveside services will follow in Keenan Cemetery in Nichols County, West Virginia at 1:00 p.m.. Memorial contributions may be made to Westside Baptist Church Building Fund.
