
John Allen Morley, 63, of Mansfield, died unexpectedly Saturday, July 11, 2009 at his home. Born June 12, 1946, in Mansfield, he was the son of Rex and Helen Munn Morley. He was a veteran serving with the U.S. Marines during Vietnam. He worked in welder maintenance at GM where he retired after 30 years. He was a member of GWRRA Goldwing Road Riders Association Chapter B of Mansfield. John enjoyed participating in classic car shows. His number one hobby was spending time with his grandsons.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia L. Kerin Morley of Mansfield; children, Thomas Morley fiancée Donna Myers of Columbus and Jennifer Mark Phillips of Mansfield; grandsons, Mitch and Nate Phillips; sisters, Shirley John Back, Sr. of Galion and Jean Ann Hall of Mansfield; brothers James Morley of Tiro and Pete Alona Morley of Mansfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen Morley and grandson, John Paul Phillips.
Friends may call Wednesday, July 15, 2009 from 5-8 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd., Mansfield. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 16, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by Rev. Robert Stull. Military graveside services conducted by the Richland County Joint Veteran's Burial Detail will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Trinity United Methodist Church, 1592 Grace St., Mansfield.
