
John M. Wolfe, 83, of Mansfield, died Friday, December 24, 2010 at Crystal Care Center. Born September 14, 1927 in Mansfield, he was the son of Claude Wolfe, Sr. and Goldie Henderson Wolfe. John served in the Army during the Korean War, where he received the Bronze Star Medal. John was a Union Steward while working at Mansfield Tire and he then retired from MANCI. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, AMVETS, the Eagles, and the Moose. A love for the outdoors, John enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending a lot of time at Lake Erie. He was a kind man who dearly loved his family.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Myrtle McKenzie of Mansfield; stepdaughter, Sandie Robert Baxter of Mansfield; granddaughter, Leona Litteral of Mansfield; grandsons, Todd Baxter of Virginia and Brett Baxter of Mansfield; niece Linda Larry Wolfe of Mansfield; great nephew, Bryden Wolfe; and numerous other grandchildren, great grandchildren; and great great grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Claude Wolfe, Jr. and sister, Ruth Scholler.
Friends may call Tuesday, December 28, 2010 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd., Ontario. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home followed by military services conducted by the Richland Joint Veteran's Burial Detail. Burial will take place in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia Society.
