

Joseph Guarino, 94, of Lady Lake, Florida, formerly of Mansfield, died Friday, March 25, 2016 at The Villages of Mission Oaks in Lady Lake, Florida. Born October 28, 1921 in Shelby, Ohio he was the son of Frank and Dorthy (Scadudo) Guarino.
He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II with the Army Corp of Engineers and was the owner and operator of Joe Guarino Wholesale Produce. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, the American Legion, Sons of Herman and the 40 et 8. He enjoyed boating on Lake Erie and hanging out with his buddies at the American Legion and 40 et 8. He was an excellent drummer, ball room dancer, woodworker and loved parties and making his own wine.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Alice Opal (Kelley) Guarino; three children, Robert Guarino of Stockbridge, Georgia, Glenda Guarino (Tom) Wolff of The Villages, Florida and Anita Guarino (Ron) Noble of Mansfield; seven grandchildren, Kim Cicolani, Kevin Noble, Wendy Nichols, Dean Daugherty, Ben Wolff, Christi Finder and Robert Joe Guarino, Jr.; 19 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, a sister and a great great grandson.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2016 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield conducted by Chaplain Bob Shirk. Friends may call one hour prior to the services, from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m., at the funeral home on Saturday. Full military services will be conducted by the Richland County Veterans Burial Detail following the service at the funeral home.
