
Joseph G. Knight, Jr., 80, of Mansfield, died suddenly early Sunday morning, September 17, 2006, at his home. Born October 25, 1925, in Struthers, Ohio, he was the son of Joseph Sr. and Goldie Flickinger Knight. Joe retired from Westinghouse Corp. where he was employed as a supervisor. He was a member of the Sons of Herman, 40 et 8 Voiture 20, American Legion Post #16, Amvets Post #26, Venus Masonic Lodge #152, F. & A.M., and the Baku Grotto. He enjoyed bowling and golfing. Joe was a veteran of WWII, serving with the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Deanna and Ronald Lozier of Ashland; grandson, Stephen Lozier, Sr.; granddaughters, Brittany and Taylor Lozier; great-grandchildren, April, Stephen Jr., and Gary Lozier; sister, JoAnne McCarron of Mansfield; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty in 2000, parents, and sisters, Virginia Snyder and Ruth Cochran.
Friends may call Wednesday, September 20 from 5-8 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors with 40 et 8 during the evening calling hours. Masonic services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Military graveside services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in Mansfield Memorial Park with Pastor Steve Schag officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Madison Township Fire Department and Rescue Squad.
