Julia Shepherd passed away Friday, February 21, 2020, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital at the age of 70. She was born September 18, 1949, in Warsaw, Indiana, to the late Gobel and Leora (Shepherd) Stephens and was the oldest sister of nine children.
She had resided in Crestline for the past 5 years and was a homemaker her entire life. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Julia enjoyed caring for others, gardening and canning.
Julia is survived by her husband of 52 years, Elzie Shepherd whom she married on September 14, 1968; son, Keith (Fiancée Jennifer Paul) Shepherd; siblings, Jesse (Myra) Stephens, Lona (Robert) Stewart, Carter (Linda) Stephens, Sandra (Leslie) Fulk, Louis Stephens, and Marie (Tim) Kiser; a sister-in-law, Brenda Wetzel; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, PFC James Stephens and Chester Stephens; infant siblings, Denver and Janet; and two nieces, Rachel Kiser and Angela Fulk.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 26, 2020, at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Shiloh, Ohio. Rev. Gary Adkins will conduct the service. The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family.
