Katherine Coon

Katherine Coon, 91, of Mansfield, passed away at Good Shepherd Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation on Saturday, November 10, 2018. Katherine was born on August 24, 1927 in Lefor, North Dakota, the daughter of Jacob and Theresa (Focht) Anton.

Katherine was a very dedicated and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her grandchildren had her heart and meant the world to her. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church, and VFW Women's Auxiliary in Ontario. Katherine loved baking, cooking and gardening. Always caring for others, Katherine loved to share what she made, especially her famous cookies.

Katherine leaves behind her son, Jerry (Barb) Coon of Mansfield; grandchildren, Dianna (Kelly) Fleeman of Virginia, Steven Maxwell of South Carolina, Caitlin Little of Virginia, and Julianne (Gabe) Wansitler of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Hunter Fleeman of Virginia, Ryan Fleeman of North Dakota, and Everett Maxwell of South Carolina; sisters, Rose Mary McKean and Lorraine Schiff both of Mansfield; brothers, Norman (Marlene) Anton and Raymond (Virginia) Anton both of Mansfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of nearly 58 years, Robert Coon; daughter, Linda (Coon) Maxwell Little; and infant sister, JoAnn Anton.

Family and friends may visit from 1:00-2:00 pm on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Road. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Rev. Paul L. Larson officiating. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park.
