

Kathleen Betty Weaver, 96, of Ashland, passed away Sunday afternoon, March 18, 2018, at Brookwood Place in Ashland, Ohio. She was born January 6, 1922, in Homerville, Ohio, to the late Lester Ivan and Frankie J. (Bowerize) Gorham.
She graduated from Greenwich High School in 1940. Kathleen was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps from June 6, 1944 to December 19, 1945. She was stationed at McDill Airfield in Florida where she was an integral part of the Map Room of the Intelligence Department. After her discharge, she worked in the office of Attorney Robert Henderson for many years. On October 16, 1948, she married Harold Weaver and they enjoyed 59 years of togetherness. Kathleen loved to sing and enjoyed her life to the fullest.
Kathleen was very active in both church and the community. She was an active member of Savannah United Methodist Church and held many offices in the Polk United Methodist Church including: choir director, District Mission Team, and was a Certified Lay Speaker for the United Methodist Church organization. She was a member of the Ashland County Farm Bureau and was a 4H advisor for several years. Kathleen was also a member of the American Legion and Ashland County Election Board.
She is survived by four daughters, Linda S. (David) Bartlett, Peggy D. Eisel and Julie A. (John) Daubenspeck, all of Ashland and Candace A. (John W.) Donley of Polk; four grandchildren, Justin (Qiana) Donley, Christopher Donley, Mary Daubenspeck, Molly (Matthew) Timcheck; two step grandchildren, Michael Bartlett and Amanda (Dusty) Sloan; three great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Gretchen and Keith Donley. she is also survived by a brother, Robert (Shirley) Gorham of Mt. Vernon; two sisters, Marie Pate of Ashland and Dorothy Phillips of Atlanta, GA; and many nieces and nephews.
Kathleen is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Weaver on November 27, 2007; her parents; grandson, Joshua Daubenspeck; and two brothers, Lester Gorham Jr. and Homer Koppler.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018, at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 308 Claremont Avenue. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Johnnie Swann officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Ashland County Memorial Park with military honors presented by the Ashland Veterans Honor Guard. Memorial contributions honoring the generosity of Kathleen may be made to Savannah United Methodist Church.
