Kay Jarvis, 76, of Mansfield, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at MedCentral Mansfield following a long struggle with Alzheimer's Disease. Born August 28, 1936 in Olive Hill, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Harold and Agnes (Gerhart) Porter. She retired from Therm-O-Disc and enjoyed auctions, garage sales, antiquing and working crossword puzzles but her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.
She is survived by four sisters, Jean Rose of Ontario, Doris Hanshaw of Kentucky, Joy DeVore and June (Glenn) Jarvis both of Mansfield; a host of nieces and nephews; and two special sisters-in-law, Audrey Porter of Mansfield and Ora Porter of Niles, OH. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Peter Porter and Arthur Porter.
Friends may call from 3-6 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2013 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 1, 2013 at the funeral home conducted by Rev. George Reece. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
