Kenneth Andersen

Kenneth R. Andersen, 90, of Ashland died Monday, June 13, 2011 at Samaritan Regional Health Systems. Born July 3, 1920 in Boston, Massachusetts, he was the son of Andrew P. and Mathilde Nielsen Andersen. Kenneth attended St. Mathew's Episcopal Church and was a member of the Kiwanis and the Republican Club when he lived in Massachusetts. He enjoyed airplane flying, wrestling, softball, baseball, and boating.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Dauphinee Andersen of Ashland; children, Allan Mary-Rose Andersen of Ashland, Christine Konetchy of South Salem, NY, and Laurel Andersen Mike Payne of Boulder, CO; grandchildren, Bob Konetchy Marie Connors, Kristina Marcos Pires, Marissa Brad Nichols, Erik Konetchy, Tim Konetchy, and Jesse Peacock; step grandchildren, Kristina King and Heidi King McFrederick; great grandson, Lucas Pires; four step great granddaughters; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mary and Mel Pickings of Nova Scotia, Sheila and Len Shetler of Florida, and Parker Dauphinee and Mirza Molgaard of Denmark; and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Edith and Ann and his brother, Arthur.

A memorial service will be held on July 29, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Ashland. Memorial contributions may be made to the church. Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family of Kenneth R. Andersen.
