Larry A. Eberts, a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017 at the age of 59. He rests inside the gates with our Heavenly Father, out of pain from his physical body in this world. His passing was unexpected, but foreseen, as he wished for relief from his everlasting pain and his earthly suffering. May his soul find peace as he watches over us all.
He was born June 16, 1957, in Mansfield, Ohio, and welcomed by his parents, Jack E. Eberts Sr. and Donna R. Hout Eberts. Larry was a diligent worker and gave 26 years of service to AK Steel. He was always working on a project around the house and especially enjoyed the assistance of his boys. Larry was an excellent woodworker and great at working with his hands. His work ethic was a fine example for those around him to witness. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and relaxing at his fire pit.
Larry would bend over backward to repair the broken toys that came to "Grandpa's Workshop" where every toy was lovingly returned to working order. He was a teacher of life and enjoyed the time he spent sharing his knowledge with his sons. His pride and joy were his grandchildren, Gabriel and Emilia. Becoming a grandfather was the most exciting news Larry could ever have received. They meant more to him than anything else in this world and he found a new spirit of joy when they were born into this world.
Larry is survived by his wife, Rosemarie "Rosie" Riegel Eberts; two sons, Kyle (Bettina) Eberts of Lucas and Kevin Eberts of Mansfield; his beloved grandchildren, Gabriel and Emilia Eberts; his mother, Donna R. Yetter of Crestline; stepmother, Nancy Eberts of Mansfield; and nephews, Damian Bays of Mansfield and Dalton Bays. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack E. Eberts Sr.; brother, Jack E. Eberts Jr.; sister, Sheryl Bays; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Michael and Magdalena Riegel.
The family will welcome friends from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. The funeral service will be held Thursday in the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Jared Ruari officiating. He will be laid to rest in Windsor Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
