Born December 16, 1948 in Mansfield, he was the son of Plummer and Eulaliah (Smith) Underwood. He retired in 2012 from Nokia after 44 years of service and had served with the Air National Guard. He had lived the past 13 years in Kansas City and had just recently moved back to the Mansfield area to be closer to his family and grandchildren.
