

Lillian (Art) McGinty, devoted wife, loving mother, aunt, grandma and great-grandma went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, February 10, 2019. Lillian was born in Lakewood, Ohio on October 31, 1924. Her family moved to Mansfield early in her childhood. At Mansfield Senior High she was honored by being voted the "Prettiest Girl in the Class." When Life Magazine featured Mansfield's Graduating Class of 1941 for their popular "Life Goes to..." series, her picture was in the national publication.
After World War II, Lillian met and married David McGinty in 1946. Together they spent the next 64 years devoted to one another, loving God, their family and their many, many friends. They frequently opened their home to missionaries, to various groups visiting their church, to their children's friends and each year to the young men visiting town for the Mehock Relays.
In Mansfield, Lillian was a member of the First Alliance Church and a leader of the Christian Women's Club. She attended Lane Ave. Baptist Church in Columbus and was an active member of Grace Bible Church in Sun City, AZ. Lillian worked as executive secretary at Therm-O-Disc Corporation and later Administrative Secretary to the City Safety Services Director of Mansfield. Upon moving to Columbus she became Administrative Secretary in the Upper Arlington Engineering offices.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, William and Helen (Bechtel) Art; her husband, David; sister-in-law, Betty Ardt; and brother-in-law, Marshall Smith. She is survived by her brother, Edward Ardt; sister, Evelyn Smith; her children, Leslie Mayne (Darrell), David (Pat) both of Hilliard, OH, and Michael (Colleen) of Walford, IA; her grandchildren, Erin, Katie (Cody), Jennifer (Chris), Ryan (Courtney), Andy (Danielle), Heidi (Kyle), and Carrie (Randy); fifteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be at Dublin Baptist Church, 7195 Coffman Rd., Dublin, OH 43017 beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 18, 2019, with the service starting at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at the Mansfield Cemetery, Mansfield, Ohio, on Wednesday February 20, 2019 at 1:00 p.m.
