
Lloyd M. Koenig Sr., 69, of Mansfield died Friday morning, March 14, 2003 at MedCentral Mansfield. Mr. Koenig was born April 8, 1933 in Meigs County, Ohio living in the Mansfield area since 1958. He retired from General Motors after 31 years. He was a member of Venus Lodge, AmVets Post #26, Veterans Burial Detail, VFW #3494, and American Legion #16. Lloyd enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1954-1956.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Jeanette Koenig; a son and daughter-in-law, Marlon & Cathy Koenig of Lexington; a daughter and son-in-law, Marie & Rocky Suttle of Mansfield; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Koenig of Mansfield; a foster daughter, Sharon Heter of Ashland; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his mother, Doris Weber Koenig of Meigs County, Ohio; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Elsie & Don Hawk of Bellville and Dorothy & Bruce Myers of Chester, Ohio; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald & Norma Koenig of Little Hocking, Ohio, Leonard Jr. & Sandy Koenig of Sumner, Ohio and Rick Koenig of Tuppers Plains, Ohio; and numerous nieces, nephews and relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard H. Koenig Sr.; a son, Lloyd Melvin Koenig Jr.; and an infant sister.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Sunday from 6-9 p.m. and an hour prior to funeral services to be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by Dr. Wray C. Smith. Military services will follow at Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Hospital or Hospice of North Central Ohio.
