
Lucille Butler Zajack Hunter, 86, of Mansfield, died Thursday, October 14, 2010 at Hospice of North Central Ohio. Born September 8, 1924 in Millersburg, she was the daughter of Max and Atossa Ruth Carmichael Butler. She graduated from Millersburg High School and went on to receive a degree in nursing from Mansfield General Hospital School of Nursing and also a degree in education from the Ohio State University. Lucille then returned to Mansfield General School of Nursing where she taught from 1963-1991. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church, Ruth Chapter of the Eastern Star, The Ohio State Alumni Association, Mansfield General Alumni Association, and the Red Hat Society.
She is survived by her brothers, Donald George Butler of Millersburg and Dr. Orton Carmichael Butler of Ocala, FL; nieces, Marilyn Mark Butler of Worchester, MA and Catherine Tom Balistrieri of Pennsylvania; step daughters Betty Robert Lipps of Mansfield and Christine Matt Benick of Bellville; step sons, John Marianne Zajack of Mansfield and David Diana Hunter of Albuquerque, NM; step daughter-in-law, Joan Zajack of Mansfield; 13 step grandchildren; 26 step great grandchildren; 17 step great great grandchildren; and great niece, Anika Sabin. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Long; second husband, John Zajack; third husband, John Hunter; sister-in-law, Betty Butler; and step son, Jerry Richard Zajack.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at 2:00 p.m.at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd., Ontario, conducted by Rev. Cloyd E. Kress. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
