Lucy Harris, 88, of Mansfield died Tuesday evening, May 6, 2003 at her home. She was born April 10, 1 915 in Brownsville, Tennessee to Allen and Girty Bond Carter. Lucy was formerly employed with the Leland Hotel. She attended the Church of Christ.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, J.C. and Ada Walker of Decatur, Illinois; a daughter, Catherine Howell of Mansfield; a brother, Phillip Pender of Mansfield; twelve grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Bishop Harris; parents; and two sisters, Hallioner Lewis and Reaper Springfield.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors one hour prior to funeral services that will be held Monday, May 12 at 11:00 a.m., conducted by James Bond. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
