

Luke A. Tackett, 21, of Mansfield died Sunday, August 4, 2002 in Cleveland Metro General Hospital from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Luke was born October 18, 1980 in Mansfield and was a 1999 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School where he was active in football and wrestling. He attended Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Luke lived life to the fullest. He loved his friends and family and enjoyed his many cars and motorcycle. He worked many places in his short life beginning at the age of 13 working in the summer at Park Avenue Deli and later at Subway, Spencers, TGI Friday, Deschner's, Service Merchandise, Roger McIntosh Chevrolet in Linwood, Michigan, Mike Young Pontiac-Olds in Frankenmuth, Michigan, and most recently at Circuit City.
He is survived by his father, Billy R. Tackett of Mansfield; mother, Kathy F. Tackett of Mansfield; brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Tori Tackett of Hilliard; niece, Sidney Paige Mikesell Tackett; sister, Maygan Tackett of Mansfield; maternal grandmother, Audrey Schneider of Phoenix, Arizona; maternal great-grandmother, Irma Wolfe of Mansfield; aunts, Jean Lauinger of Mansfield, Linda Kay Downs of Circleville, and Vickie Wittmer of Mansfield; uncle, Tom Schneider, his wife, Kim and their children, Courtney, Lauren and Morgan, all of Centerville; cousins and their children, Troy and Denna Hawkins, Kaley and Kristin of Nova, Robert and Jodelle Newberry, Nathan and Tesla of Mansfield, Brent Downs of Circleville, Beth Lauinger of Mansfield, Kyle Tackett of Mansfield; Heather and Steve DeLong, Tyler and Spencer of Mansfield; great aunt and uncle, Ralph and Phyllis Harbaugh and their children, John Harbaugh of Mansfield, Jeff and Jeri Harbaugh and their children, Austin and Alex of Huntsville, Alabama; his best friends, Kane and Monica Wyatt, John and Ronna Hess, Tonya Perry, Melissa Fugett, Levi Gribben, Grant Totman, all of Mansfield and many other wonderful friends; adopted nephews, Tyler Wyatt and Blake Hess of Mansfield; and his dog, Cinnamon. He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Melissa Dawn Tackett, paternal grandparents, Richard and Ida Tackett, maternal grandfather, Charles Schneider, Sr. and uncles, Charles Schneider, Jr. and Bob Lauinger and maternal great-grandfather, Willard Oney.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Wednesday, August 7 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
