
Mal Sun Dorner, beloved wife of Ralph Dorner of Bellville, Ohio, passed onto her eternal home Wednesday, May 19, 2010 after a brief illness. She was born in Suwon City, Seoul, South Korea on June 29, 1941. Immigrated to the U.S. on February 14, 1968 and became a naturalized citizen in October 1976. Employed by Essex Corporation for eight years, she retired from Gorman-Rupp of Bellville after 30 years of service. Mala was a homemaker, lover of flowers and enjoyed gardening. She was an active church member of the Korean United Methodist Church of Mansfield. Mala loved being affiliated with her church.
Mala is survived by her children, Mike Dorner of Tucson, Arizona, Lori Dorner of Tucson, Arizona, and Steve Dorner of Mansfield, Ohio; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mala was preceded in death by sons, Chris Dorner and Joey Lee Dorner. Mala was loved by many and she will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 23, 2010 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd., Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Korean United Methodist Church, 1611 N. Lexington-Springmill Rd., conducted by Hang-Baek Cho. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to MedCentral Hospice.
