

She was a graduate of Ashland High School in 1937. She was a graduate of Buxton Beauty School in Columbus, Ohio and was a former beautician. She was a member of First Christian Church. Margaret was a talented seamstress and knitter. She shared her talents by making prom and wedding dresses, quilts and many other artistic gifts for those she loved. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Margaret married John Britton on October 29, 1950 and he preceded her in death. Margaret then married Charles Boyd on March 21, 1969 and he preceded her on December 30, 2005.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Joy Britton (Bernard) Burke of Port Orange, Florida; three grandchildren, Amanda Selvage, Shawn Selvage and Bernard James Burke; a step son, Ronald Boyd of Trenton, Florida; five step grandchildren, Douglas Boyd, Tammy Simmons, Brian Boyd, Susie Boyd and Steve Boyd; four nieces and one nephew, Carolyn Stoler, William Freytag, Monta Donelson, Rhonda Neese and Mona Campbell; and a sister-in-law, Martha Freytag.
In addition to her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Gilbert and Frank Freytag; two sisters-in-law, Margarite and Dorothy; and a step-son, Robert Boyd.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2014 at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 308 Claremont Avenue, Ashland conducted by Chaplain Sandy Lauer. Burial will follow in Ashland Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the services, from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio or First Christian Church.
