Marilyn Lifer

Marilyn Jean Case Mosser-Lifer, 75, of Polk, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 23, 2009, at Brethren Care Nursing Home following an extended illness, surrounded by her family. Born November 11, 1933, in Cleveland, she was the daughter of Albert Case and Gwendolen R. Shealy Case Cowan. Marilyn retired from Abbott Labs in 1997 and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and Savannah United Methodist Church. She was a Girl Scout Leader for many years and was a past member of the Diligent Dozen Mothers Club and the Harmony Circle. Along with her husband, Paul, Marilyn enjoyed traveling, having traveled to ten countries in Europe including Ireland, Scotland, Spain, the Holy Land and China and also traveled extensively in the United States, having traveled to all the states with the exception of three. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, photography, gardening and going to movies.

A devoted wife and mother, she is survived by her husband, Paul A. Lifer; a daughter, Vicki Farnwalt and her fiancé, Donald Remley, Sr. of Shelby; a son, Mike Kathy Mosser of Norwalk; step-son, Allen Adele Lifer of Ashland; four grandchildren, Kara Mosser of Norwalk, Ryan Farnwalt of Bucyrus, Randy Farnwalt of North Carolina and Tracy Farnwalt of Dublin; two step-grandchildren, Grant and Dean Lifer of Ashland; and three great-grandchildren, Kyle Farnwalt of Upper Sandusky, Alexis Farnwalt of Bucyrus and Nevaeh Farnwalt of North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son-in-law, Gary Farnwalt on May 23, 1996.

A gathering for family and friends will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2009, at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 308 Claremont Avenue, Ashland, OH 44805. Memorial funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, May 30, 2009 at the funeral home conducted by Rev. Mike Namy and Rev. Roger Hayes. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Drive, Ashland, OH 44805 or to Trinity United Methodist Church, 1301 State Route 89, Ashland, OH 44805.
