
Marjorie B. McClain Kauffman, 85, of 404 Fifth Ave died at home Tuesday morning, August 28, 2001 after an extended illness. Mrs. Kauffman was born July 14, 1916 in Mansfield, Ohio. She retired from Richland Hospital after 40 years as an L.P.N. She was a member of VFW Post 9943. Mrs. Kauffman enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping, and crocheting.
She is survived by her husband, Donald V. Kauffman of Mansfield; a daughter, Loretta Strong of Plymouth; four sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald & Mary McClain of Perrysville, Charles & Karin McClain of Shelby, Larry & Shirley McClain of Mansfield, and Douglas & Penny McClain of Ontario; a stepdaughter and son-in-law, Vickie & Robert Salyers of Mansfield; two stepsons and daughters-in-law, Donald & Linda Kauffman and Robert & Patricia Kauffman, all of Mansfield; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 5 great great-grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; 4 step great-grandchildren; three sisters, Bertha Clear of Arizona, Evelyn Donough of Florida, and Mary Cordrey of Galion; a sister-in-law, Bea Nelson of Mansfield; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Amzy R. & Margaret Ross Bird; a daughter, Arletta McClain; a great-granddaughter, Shawna Deskins; two sisters, Helen McClain and Margaret Conners; and a brother, Clarence Bird.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Thursday from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Friday at 10:30 a.m. conducted by Rev. James F. Winkler. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
