
Marjorie L. Rose Owens, 78, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Knox County Community Hospital in their palliative care on Sunday, February 7, 2010. Born July 28, 1931 in Jackson, OH, she was the daughter of Hue and Jessie May Carter Porter. A homemaker, she was an energetic woman who loved visiting with all her friends at the Crystal Care Center and Dean Road Baptist Church where she enjoyed listening to the church music. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Vickie Bob Miller of Fredericktown, Nancy Ivan Thompson of Greenfield, and Tammy Good of Ashland; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; sisters, Sarah George Bankes of Zanesville, Virginia Don Vance of Delaware, and Edith Powell of The Plaines; and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Lee Rose and Harry "Blake" Owens, and a son, David.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 12, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Diamond St. Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St. Mansfield, conducted by Rev. Bruce Copley and Rev. Clifford Earl Tackett Friends may call two hours prior to the service from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
