Marjorie "Jean" McCune Wagner, 87, of Mansfield, went home to be with our Lord on Friday, June 26, 2009 at Crystal Care Center in Mansfield. Born April 12, 1922, on her father's birthday, in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Glenn and Bessie Marks McCune. She graduated from Crestline High School and retired as a receptionist from Mansfield General Hospital. Jean was a member of Little Washington Congregational Church. Some of Jean's favorite pastimes were knitting, crocheting, and bird watching. She also enjoyed reading, music, crossword puzzles, fishing, and loved animals. After her retirement, she served as a volunteer Grandmother at Richland Newhope Center, and she also volunteered at The Store which furnishes clothing to children.
She was exceedingly proud of her Irish Heritage to the point of coloring her hair green on St. Patrick's Day. She kept her incredible sense of humor even in her final days.
Mom had a most warm and loving heart especially for the less fortunate. She had been known to give her last dollar to someone she knew needed it more than she did. Her love of music was a life-long passion which she has instilled in all of her children. She had a special fondness for polka music having met her husband who was performing in a polka band. She had a beautiful singing voice. As a young woman, she sang Beautiful Ohio on a radio show in Mansfield.
Her favorite trips were to Hawaii, Arizona, California and to Michigan. She loved to watch the swans on Grand Traverse Bay in Michigan.
She is survived by nine children, Larry Cindy Mumaw of Queen Creek, Arizona, Peggy Tom Sheidler of Suttons Bay, Michigan, Lois Randy Sensibaugh of Lucas, Sherry Gary Holbrook of Chico, California, Carolyn "Corki" Ed Naumann of Mansfield, Joel Wagner of Seattle, Washington, Gayle Larry Bosko of Columbus, Roberta Ron Harvey of Mansfield, and Lisa Baginski of North Olmsted; 21 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
