
Martha C. Jacobs, 89, of Mansfield, died Friday, September 24, 2010, at her residence. Born March 5, 1921, in Shelby, she was the daughter of Henry and Ursula Wagner. She was retired from Westinghouse and was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church where she was very active in the Catholic Women's Club. She was also a member of A.A.R.P., Daughters of Herman, Leiderkranz, Daughters of Isabella, and was formerly a past President of St. Mary's Rosary Alter Soceity and was a former Cub Scout Den Mother and Brownie Girl Scout Leader. She enjoyed getting together with her friends twice a week to play cards. A wonderful grandmother, Martha enjoyed baking cookies and delivering them to her grandchildren and had also served lunch at St. Peter's Catholic School when her grandchildren were attending school there.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Karin Jacobs; two daughters and a son-in-law, Vicki Earnshaw and Becky and Jim Moritz; grandchildren, Kari Keith Cawrse, Bret Jacobs, Aaron Casey Jacobs, Terra Mike Bonte, Ryan Kleshinski, Jeni John Stewart, Jason Carrie Moritz and Nathan Casie Moritz; great grandchildren, Andrew and Alexis Cawrse, Riley Kleshinski, Abigail and James Stewart, Delaney and Carson Moritz and Daniel Moritz; a sister-in-law, Jean Wagner; and many nieces and nephews. Martha was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 years, William Jacobs; four brothers, James, Joseph, Larry and George Wagner; and two sisters, Theresa Kaylor and Mary White.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Monday, September 27, 2010, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Mansfield where a vigil service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at St. Peter's Catholic Church conducted by Father Tony Borgia. Burial will follow in Mansfield Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Catholic Church or to the American Heart Association.
