Mary Green

Mary Frances “Babe” Green, 45, passed away late Monday evening, August 1, 2011 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. She was born June 26, 1966, in Norton, Virginia. Babe was a 1984 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School and was employed at Whirlpool in Marion. A friendly, helpful, selfless, honest woman, she had a wonderful sense of humor and lively personality. Babe enjoyed the outdoors, flowers, fishing, mushroom hunting, and dancing-especially line dancing. She attended White Lilly Chapel in Ashley, Ohio.

Babe is survived by her son, Robert Owens of Mansfield; mother, Mary Green of Mansfield; brother, Jerry Green of Mansfield; sister, Tammy Sand of Mansfield; aunts, Betty (Frank) Stanley of Wise, VA, Lois Bevins of Northeast MD, Christine (Duane) Meade of Wise, VA; uncles, Joe (Anna)

Green of Wise, VA, Roy (Evelyn) Green of Mansfield, Robert (Peggy) Gentry of Wise, VA and Ephriam (Debbie) Gentry of Pound, VA; niece, Courtney Sand of Mansfield; nephew, Jarrad (Samantha) Sand of Columbus; former companion and father of her son, Tim Owens of Phoenix, AZ; special friends, Julie Lambert, Melissa Baldridge and Tammy Cook; numerous cousins and other dear relatives; and her good friends at Whirlpool. She was preceded in death by her father; Robert Green; maternal grandparents, Bernice and Willie Gentry; paternal grandmother, Annabelle Green; and cousins, Joyce Mounts and Judy Farrow.

A celebration of Mary’s life will be held at Mary’s house, 967 Herring Avenue, Mansfield on Sunday, August 7, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. where a dinner will be held in her memory.
