Mary Herrell

Mary Jean Herrell, 86, of Mansfield, died Saturday, February 1, 2014 at MedCentral Mansfield. Born October 5, 1927 in Cowen, WV, she was the daughter of Asbery and Belva Lee (Conrad) Phares. She worked as a waitress for Leland Hotel from 1946-1966 and worked as a baker and cashier for T&A Grocery Store and Foodtown from 1966-1989. Mary was also a member of First Church of the Brethren.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Ron (Michelle) Herrell, Jr. of Gary, IN, Rick Herrell of Texas, and Chris (Sara) Herrell of Texas; great grandchildren, Ashley Herrell, Danielle Herrell, Katelyn Herrell, Jude Herrell, Faith Herrell, Stokley Herrell, Bruce Herrell, Vada Herrell, and Drake Herrell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Herrell; sons, Ronald and Richard Herrell; and six brothers and sisters.

Friends may call Tuesday, February 4, 2014 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Diamond St. Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Clyde C. Fry and Pastor Delbert Kettering. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
