Mary Higgs

Mary Eileen Miles Higgs, 81, formerly of Piqua, Ohio died Monday, October 29, 2001 in Connecticut after an extended illness. Mrs. Higgs was a former employee of Ohio Bell and a homemaker. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Piqua, Ohio, and was very active with her late husband in the Miami County Fully Pardoned Jail Ministry.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and James Baum of Somers, Connecticut and Judith and Walter Frederick of Middlesex, North Carolina; 9 grandchildren, Dr. Michael Baum of Brooklyn, Connecticut, Karin Jackson of Guilford, Connecticut, Corey Baum of Suffield, Connecticut, Trace Frederick, Rebecca Hughes, and Angela Frederick, all of Middlesex, North Carolina, Denise Willett of Garner, North Carolina, Peter Frederick of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Jacqueline Suarez of Idaho; 14 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, DaLee Schroff, Treva Lee, and Ruth Yarman, all of Mansfield, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Winford C. Higgs; her parents, Ralph S. & Blanche Thoma Miles; a son, Andrew Lewis Kovach; and a brother, Ralph Miles.

Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Robert A. Beaty. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice.
