Mary Lybarger

Mary Kathaleen 'Katie' Haley Lybarger, 81, of Mansfield, died Thursday, July 5, 2007 at Alterra Sterling House. She was born November 2, 1925 in Newark. Mrs. Lybarger retired from Madison High School where she worked as a cafeteria worker. She was a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church in Mansfield and volunteered her time in the church's clothing room program, where she had many friends. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and family.

She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Karen S. Eichler of Mansfield, and Sandra L. and Ronald Gonter of Avondale, Arizona; one brother, Robert 'Robby' Robertson of Sebring, Florida; three grandchildren and their spouses, Eric M. and Patti Eichler of Avon Lake, Troy J. and Ellen Eichler of Mansfield, and Andrew S. and Mandy Gonter of Avondale, Arizona; six great-grandchildren, Mitchell P. Eichler, Erin P. Eichler, both of Avon Lake, Cayman P. Eichler, Caden C. Eichler, both of Mansfield, Haley E. Gonter, and Jacob M. Gonter, both of Avondale, Arizona; and long time friend, Jeanette Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick P. Lybarger; grandson, Mark J. Gonter; and sister, Wilma Jean Steffler.

Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 8, 2007 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Park Avenue Baptist Church, 296 Park Ave. West, Mansfield, conducted by Pastor Lawrence Cook. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Park Avenue Baptist Church, the Alzheimer's Association, or the American Cancer Society.
