
Mary G. Burns Moritz, 93, of Ashland, died Tuesday afternoon, June 22, 2010, at Crystal Care Center in Ashland. Born March 23, 1917, in Mifflin Township, Ashland County, Ohio, she was the daughter of Cloyd C. and Addie Stoops Burns. She worked at Eagle Rubber Company and retired from Brethren Care Nursing Home where she had also volunteered. Mrs. Moritz was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Utilitarian Sewing Club and was a life member of the Senior Citizen's Center in Ashland. She was also an avid Cleveland Indians fan and BINGO player.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Ellen and Dean Kauffman of Ashland and Janet and Richard Motter of Shiloh; a son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Pam Moritz of Logan, OH; five grandchildren, Laurie Kevin Simmering of Ashland, John Heather Motter of Shiloh, Caleb Alissa Moritz, Seth Moritz and Katlyn "Katie" Moritz all of Logan, OH; one great grandson, Tyler Motter of Shiloh; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard R. Moritz in 1977; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Anna and Willard Devenney and Frances Burns; two brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Mary Burns and Charles and Ginny Burns; a nephew and a great niece.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2010, at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 308 Claremont Avenue, Ashland, OH 44805. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2010, at Trinity United Methodist Church conducted by Pastor Roger Hayes and Chaplain Mel Hobson. Burial will follow in Trinity White Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery Endowment Fund or the Senior Citizens Center in Ashland.
