
Max Swigart Dye, 89, died Sunday morning, January 13, 2008, in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. He was born September 23, 1918 in Mansfield to the late Floyd and Loa Swigart Dye. Max worked for the Mansfield Tire and Rubber Co. for 37 years. He was a lifetime member of the First English Lutheran Church where he ushered for over 30 years. Max was a member of the Venus Lodge # 152 F&AM, the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite and High Twelve, participating in Masonry for over 68 years. Max also served his country during WW II from 1942-1945 in the Army Signal Corp. One of Max's favorite pastimes was to walk through his neighborhood and be out of doors,
Surviving are his wife, Miriam Oswalt Dye; a daughter, Joanne Chuck Hall; a son, John Vicki Dye; four grandchildren, Amy Jason Hunt, Brian Joy Hall, Alex Dye and Anna Dye and one great granddaughter, Maggie Hunt. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Ontario Home of Wappner Directors where Masonic Services will be conducted at 7:30 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, January 16, 2008, at 10:30 am by Rev. Paul Larson at the First English Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the Mansfield Cemetery where graveside military rites will be observed. Memorial Contributions may be made to MedCentral Hospice.
