
Michael William Funston, 57, of 1761 Pleasant Valley Road, Lucas, Ohio died Thursday, May 2, 2002 at University Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Mr. Funston was born January 3, 1945 in Mansfield, Ohio living in the area all his life. He was a design engineer with MAPCO. He was a member of Lexington Grace Brethren Church. Mr. Funston served in the Air National Guard.
He is survived by his wife, Emily Colleen Tucker Funston of Lucas; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark & Kimberly Funston of Lucas and Jerry & Megan Funston of Marion; two daughters and a son-in-law, Nancy & Todd Schurig of Mansfield and Kathleen Funston of Columbus; four grandchildren, Deena, Samuel, Jeffrey and Jackson; three foster daughters, Eva Smith, Sarah Shepherd and Angie Giles; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Rodney & Laura Funston of Las Vegas, Nevada and Bruce & Barbara Funston of Columbus; and a sister, Janeen Funston Ziegler of Mansfield. He was preceded in death by his father, Foster Funston and his mother and stepfather, Dorothy & Leo Johnson.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Lexington Grace Brethren Church conducted by the Rev. Steve Kern. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Msgr. Edward C. Dunn Scholarship Foundation or the Unverferth House.
