

He was born on February 12, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan. He was the son of Donald and Eileen Kennedy. Mike moved with his family to Shelby, Ohio in 1957. He attended high school with the class of 1962, then served in the United States Navy.
After receiving his first English racer as a newspaper boy and being a golf caddy, he prided himself in having worked a variety of jobs including lawn maintenance, telephone line work, and car sales. He also volunteered for the AA Club and the Red Cross downtown in Mansfield.
Mike enjoyed socializing with others, playing cards, reading, and listening to music. In his earlier years he enjoyed swimming, golfing, baseball, fishing, and cars.
He is survived by a sister, Sara (John) Pallay of Ontario; a brother, Bruce (Cindy) Kennedy of Lexington; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Kitty (Richard) Hamman.
The family wishes to thank his many friends through the years, as well as Dr. Exten, Signature Home Health Care, VA, MedCentral Hospital and Hospice and Mifflin Care Center for the concern and care for Mike. The family also appreciated the prayers from Victory Baptist Church where he recently acknowledged Jesus Christ as his Savior.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2012 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario conducted by Rev. George Reece. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to MedCentral Hospice or Mifflin Care Center.
