Michael Sean Strickling

Michael Sean Strickling, 50, of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital from a massive heart attack. Born June 20, 1966 in Mansfield, he was the son of John "Gordon" Strickling and Charlotte (Salyer) Cabell.

He was an avid photographer which started out as a hobby and turned into his full time profession. Mike was a very personable person who enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was hunting or fishing and was an avid sports fan. He especially enjoyed playing pool. He also enjoyed listening to rock music, especially Lynyrd Skynyrd and local bands. Mike was devoted to his family as well as his many friends. He was a fantastic grandfather and his granddaughters were his world.

He is survived by two children, Shuree (Tim) Eldridge and Michael Ray Strickling; two granddaughters, Kara Strickling and Emma Eldridge; his mother, Charlotte (Kermit) Cabell; his father, John "Gordon" (Maureen) Strickling; siblings, Becky (Gary) Edington, Joy (Tom) Cuffman, Denise Cabell-Hall, Jonathon Cabell, Dawn (Chuck) Johnston and Ella (Larry) Jarrell; numerous nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Cabell and his grandparents, John and Mary Strickling.

Friends may call from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 South Diamond Street, Mansfield. A memorial service will follow at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the funeral home to the family.
