
Mildred "Millie" Irene Arnold, 64, of Mansfield, died Saturday, September 26, 2009 at her residence. Born August 1, 1945, in Shelby, she was the daughter of Paul and Viola Wright Weirick. She was raised in Lucas and graduated from Lucas High School. She worked as a rural carrier for the USPS, where she retired after 30 years in 2001. Millie was a very caring and giving person. She loved stock car races and in her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, cooking, and collecting bells.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Chuck Arnold of Mansfield; daughter, Machelle Patrick Shoemaker of Shelby; son, Paul Arnold of Mansfield; grandchildren, Michael Paul Arnold, Steven Tyler Haynes, Kayla Nicole Haynes, Dallas Paul Arnold, Sara Machelle Bryan, and Shelby Elise Arnold; one great-granddaughter, Kelcey Nicole Haynes and also one on the way, Lynzee Irene Haynes; sisters, Paula Jean Kershner and Laura Lee Robert Keefer, both of Mansfield; sister-in-law, Dot Harold Spiker of Mansfield; her cocker spaniel, Sandy at home; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, very good friends, and race friends. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Sue Hitchcock and brother-in-law, David Kershner.
A memorial service will be held between the hours of 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, October 31, 2009 at Real Life Community Church, 670 Kentucky Ave., Mansfield. The Diamond St. Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family of Millie.
